. . . the best news
in blues . . .

From out of the grey and evergreen skies of theGreat Northwest comes DADDY TREETOPS, purveyor of indigenous blues styles.

Treetops performs many traditional blues songs;CHARLEY PATTON, ROBERT JOHNSON, FURRY LEWIS, and MUDDY WATERS are but afew musical influences; on National Steel and 12-string guitars.

In addition to his own original compositions, Treetopsis also known to slip into his sets some very blues-ified renditions ofmore recent tunes by such artists as BRUCE COCKBURN, DAN HICKS, THE DOORS,and THE BEATLES in the tradition of many older blues sogsters who oftenadapted popular songs of their day to their playing styles.

DADDY TREETOPS' strong, driving guitar (both conventionaland slide styles) and authentic vocal delivery have made his a stand-outact at many festivals, college campuses and nightclubs throughout the Northwestand beyond. TREE has opened concert shows for JOHN LEE HOOKER, JOHN HAMMOND,THE SUNDOGS, COWBOY JUNKIES and many other varied, diverse, not-necessarily-the-bluestouring artists, to the delight (sometimes amazement) of all in attendance.

Also at home in a small band context, TREETOPShas played with BLUE LIGHTS, The BARRELHOUSE FLYERS, TROUBLE AT HOME, TheDUCKS (as DADDY THE DECOYS), and with his own bands, THE ROOT SYSTEM andthe HOWLIN' TOMCATS. In these bands TREE has had the honor of backing upmany touring bluesmen including LOUISIANA RED, FLOYD "Hey Bartender!"DIXON and SUNNYLAND SLIM.
