As songwriters, The Sean Philbin Band believes in taking the same approach as the songwriters of yesteryear: "Music should lift the spirit." Through immersion in a rich and varied stylistic milieu (Eagles, John Hiatt, James Taylor, & Bruce Springsteen, to name just a few), they have emerged with a sound uniquely their own, and an appeal that is anything but narrow.
The band possesses an enviable pedigree, being comprised of former members of such popular Seattle-area luminaries as Epiphany, Jumbalassy, Napier's Bones, and The Cowboy Maniacs, seasoned pros all. Each member has extensive touring and big-stage experience, having played such events and venues as the Paramount Theater in Seattle, The Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA (H.O.R.D.E. Tour), House of Blues in Los Angeles, CA, St. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, WA (opening for Chris Isaak), Kriki International Music Festival in Suriname (South America), a multi-venue tour of the Gold Coast of Australia, Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, WA, The Puyallup Fair (Washington State) The Bite of Seattle, and numerous others.
Since forming, the Sean Philbin Band has devoted it's energies to writing, producing and recording it's debut CD, "Dreaming in Color", recorded and mixed at Synergy Productions in Redmond WA, and is currently at work on material for a second album.
The band debuted it's live show as a Highlighted Event at the Out-To-Lunch Concert Series last summer in downtown Seattle, and has gone on to play before enthusiastic crowds at several other regional events and local venues. Gig sales of their current CD have been brisk thus far, and they expect to reach the goal of 2000 sales by June, '01.
