Established in 1992 by founding members Les White and Scott Earhart, The Nightsticks played extensively throughout the northwest from 1992 to 1998. They were celebrated winners of the 'Best Blues Band' award in 1996 issued by the Washington Blues Society. Upright Bass player Les White also won that year for 'Best Blues Bass'.

The Nightsticks' current lineup includes 'Top Shelf' Erica Kelsey on lead vocals, founding members Les 'Wild Child' White on upright bass and vocals, and Scott 'Smokehouse' Earhart on guitar and vocals, Jeff Hayes on drums, and Bill Mattocks on harmonica and vocals. They have recently played at various venues including The New Orleans, Jake's Ales, The Premiere, Cole's Oasis, The Tacoma Blues Festival, and various private parties. They received rave reviews for their "Electrifying" performance at the September


 2003 Washington Blues Society meeting at the Irish Emigrant,and are currently scheduled to headline the Inland Empire Blues Society benefit 'Blues Cats for Kids' in Spokane on February 28, 2004.

The Nightsticks are primarily a blues band, yet they play a wide variety of styles of danceable and soulful music. At any given performance you might hear some old blues, some new blues, some swing, jazz, R&B, or even an, occasional blues/rock tune. They cover songs from such artists as Big Mama Thornton, Professor Longhair, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Reed, Freddy King, Candye Kane, Etta James, Muddy Waters, Ruth Brown, Janis Joplin, and much, much more including a selection of original music. An evening with The Nightsticks will leave you feeling satisfied to your soul!
